How Much Does a Used Spray Paint Booth Cost?

Paint Spray Booths are an isolated environment where painters apply paint to a variety of things. Industrial equipment, trucks, motorcycles, boats, vans, cars, dining room tables, lighting accessories...you name it and it can be done!

Protective glazes and varnishes may be applied in a spray booth to wood, sealers can be applied to a variety of items and a clear coat is the finishing touch to most automotive and vehicular applications. Primers are typically the first item applied in order to evenly saturate the material and ensure proper paint adhesion.

There are different models available including:

Cross-Flow Paint Booths: Enclosed on all 4 sides, fresh air enters the booth on one side and exits via exhaust filters located on the opposite wall.

Open-Face Paint Booths: This design only has 3 walls, hence the name. Unfiltered air enters via the front of the booth and leaves via a rear exhaust filter. Debris may still enter through the open portion so be careful about unintentionally wrecking your finish. However, this design minimizes hazardous chemical exposure due to the copious amounts of fresh air.

Downdraft Paint Booths:

These models are closed on all 4 sides. Intake filters situated in the ceiling draw fresh air inside. Exhaust leaves the booth via numerous configurations along the side of the booth. This design is considered to contain the most advanced system for dealing with exhaust.

How Much Does a Used Spray Paint Booth Cost?

Size is a factor to consider when looking at pricing. Certain vehicles respond best to being painted inside a booth that features a heating component. Obviously, this feature will add to your bottom line. It is necessary to determine the specifics of the items or vehicles you intend to paint to ensure you choose the right model. Custom models are an option along with standard factory booths.

Expect to pay anywhere from $2K to 10K for factory booths. Downdraft models will be on the higher end of this estimate and open faced models will be on the lower end. Custom paint booths range from $15K to $20K and can come in oversized designs suitable for large trucks and equipment. Extra large industrial models are available for $50K to $100K. What is an Air Make Up Unit?

This is a common add-on for many who purchase paint booths. Add an extra $10K to $15K for this option that provides a direct source of fresh air into the paint booth. These units are additionally popular as they prevent heating, cooling or air quality issues that may arise from taking air from your shop/hangar/garage.

Safety First

Anyone who has painted anything knows that noxious fumes seem to be a part of the process. Paint booths are equipped to deal with the overspray and associated gases that would otherwise be toxic. Exhaust fans, filters and outlets are incorporated into the design to evacuate the gases from the booth.

Superior Finishing

Working in an enclosed or partially enclosed environment protects the vehicle or object you are painting from dust and airborne particulates. Nothing wrecks a paintjob like a sandstorm, dandelion fluff or curios mosquitoes and fruit flies coming too close to your project! Keep your crew and your customers safe from breathing in unnecessary fumes by choosing a paint booth that meets all of your requirements.
